WEDGE Concrete Bench Seat

The WEDGE Concrete Bench Seating is designed for architectural courtyards and public spaces. Handcrafted in two-tone GFRC/ECC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete). It transforms a robust linear form into a piece of functional art.
Structural Design & Interlock
This bench is engineered around a signature Interlocking Joint System for maximum durability.
- Base Unit (Grounded Block): The large, base block acts as an anchor, while an internal recess is cast along the rear of the block.
- Backrest Slab (Interlocking Backrest): The backrest slab is cast as a separate, thinner component fitting neatly into a recess in the base block.
- The Strength Wedge: Integrated into the rear of the spine is a concrete wedge that fits against the base, creating a compression lock and providing structural support for the backrest.

- Backrest Height (Floor to Top): approx 845mm
- Seat Depth (Seated Section): approx 450mm
- Base Depth: approx 600mm

Backrest Slab (Interlocking Backrest): The substantial backrest slab is cast as a separate, component. It features an integrated “spine” extension on its underside, which is precision-fitted to slide down into the base unit’s recess. This creates a mechanical bond that resists leaning forces.
The Strength Wedge: Integrated into the rear of the charcoal spine is a concrete wedge that fits against the base, creating a compression lock and providing structural support for the backrest.
